Employee Data Dispute

The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) provides consumers with the right to request and obtain information about them that Equifax Workforce Solutions maintains in The Work Number database. Equifax Workforce Solutions will provide consumers with an Employment Data Report (EDR), a copy of the information potentially given to those who request employment information. Consumers have the right to dispute the information contained in the EDR that they believe may be inaccurate or incomplete.

When disputing information please provide your complete name, address, social security number and clearly identify each item in your EDR you want to dispute.

Due to privacy concerns, we can only provide EDR's to people who validate their identity by submitting (2) forms of identity verification documents.

Under the FCRA, Equifax will conduct an investigation to verify the accuracy and completeness of all disputed information contained in your report.

  1. Check your Employment Data Report

Checking your EDR on an annual basis can help you spot information that may be inaccurate or incomplete.

  2. File a Dispute for free

If you see information in your EDR that is inaccurate or incomplete, simply file a dispute and we will look into it right away.

We provide several ways to dispute information on your Employment Data Report:

To begin the dispute process you can call:

The Work Number Employee Service Center: 1-866-222-5880
    TTY-hearing impaired: 1-800-424-0253

  3. Investigating your dispute

  4. Updates to your Employment Data Report

If we find information that needs to be updated on the EDR - don't worry: We'll take care of it.
